Induction
UPE at FIU is the Mu Chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon, an international honor society for all computing and informational disciplines. Any member in our organization who meet certain academic requirements can be nominated for induction into our honor society. This allows them to receive exclusive benefits from UPE National.

Requirements
- Must be a UPE Member
- Must be majoring in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Computer Engineering
- Management Information Systems
- Must have the following GPA and credit hours requirements
- Undergraduate: 3.0+ GPA and 45+ credits
- Graduate: 3.5+ GPA
- (Including current and transfer semester credits)
Procedure
Our Fall 2022 induction ceremony will be held on Friday, December 9th in GL100B, MMC FIU!
In order to proceed with your induction application, you must submit a one-time induction fee of $60.00 to upe@fiu.edu on Paypal with your full name, Panther ID, and “-FIU” at the end. (Ex: John Doe - 1234567 - FIU). Please list it as “Family and Friends” rather than “Goods and Services”. This induction fee covers the costs of membership, certificate, and pin. After submitting the payment, send an email to upe@fiu.edu with your induction form completed. The deadline for submission is on Friday December 2nd @ 5pm.
